Hi, we're Koala! An Australian furniture brand that's disrupted the Australian market with our signature product, the bed in a box. We're planning a launch in Japan this summer, and you can play an instrumental part in both the launch and ongoing localisation of our products and brand!
This position will manage and localise Koala's products and operations in Japan, and grow Koala as a trusted brand in the Japanese market.
We are looking for a self-starter who moves quickly, operates independently and is comfortable wearing lots of hats, as Product Managers do!
We're a fun, hardworking team based in Sydney. You would be expected to join us here in Australia periodically, so you must possess a willingness to travel internationally.
Ideally, you have experience in these areas:
・Ecommerce product marketing and strategy ・Product leadership & localisation: Use customer feedback to improve and localise the product offering for the Japanese market by managing relationships with Product teams ・Logistics & supply chain setup: This will be your primary initial responsibility for the Japanese market. You will seek, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and logistics companies to ensure Koala is able to maintain the same high standards of the brand in Australia ・Management of launch timeline ・Stakeholder & relationship management: manage all stakeholders in Australia and agency relationships in Japan ・Growth: With a deep understanding of the unique Japanese market, you will coordinate with the marketing team to maximise ROI through online efforts. ・Reporting & analysis: Partner with and provide ongoing reporting on sales and marketing efforts to department heads and business founders. ・Project and translation management: Work with support staff and agencies to ensure quality and accuracy of translation efforts ・Language: Fluent Japanese(MUST) and English proficiency ・Experience: Any experience working with startups, international expansions or the furniture industry will assist your application.
