Collab currently manages over 1000 YouTube channels, with over 100 in Japan and 300 in Korea. Collab supports the next generation of digital content creators on YouTube and creates innovative entertainment properties for distribution across multiple platforms.

    Collab is seeking an Operations & Business Manager to help manage and operate all aspects of our network of YouTube channels in Japan. He/She will also manage strategic relationships with local partners in Japan as well as work closely with our team in Korea and Los Angeles. We need a candidate that speaks Japanese fluently and English proficiently, is highly motivated, possesses an entrepreneurial approach to solving problems, and is passionate about digital media especially YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Snow Camera, and other social media platforms. This is not a video production or content creation job, but geared towards operations and business development.

    Job Responsibilities: • Manage and support a diverse group of YouTube creators across multiple platforms • Support senior executives in managing day-to-day and overall operations of Collab’s Japanese business unit • Provide and recommend YouTube best practices to clients, develop content/programming strategies, and promote audience growth • Comfortably communicate and interact with local strategic partners, as well as brand and content partners in a professional and confident manner—representing Collab well • Aggressively pursue opportunities with brand sponsorships and content creators and content companies—comfortably dealing with large companies as well as young content creators

    Requirements

    Desired Experience: • Fluent in Japanese (reading, writing, speaking); proficient in English • 1-3 years of experience in the entertainment industry, preferably in digital or social media • Undergraduate Degree in related field • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other basic Office software • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, unstructured, startup environment • Self-starter, highly motivated personality with an entrepreneurial attitude • Strong understanding of the online video market including YouTube, Vine, Instagram, Snapchat, Musical.ly and other digital platforms
